LEVITATE
A project from my compositing class where we revived an old assignment, and learned to rebuild it using AOV passes from Redshift in Nuke.
Roles: Concept, Animation, Design, Compositing.
Levitate

The Vicis ZERO 2 is a revolutionary helmet that puts the well being of players at the forefront of its design. It improves the safety, comfort, and vision of players through its various padding systems and flexible exterior made for bracing against all forms of impacts.
Features: Deformable Shell, RFLX 2.0, Reinforced Interior, and DLTA Padding.
Development

A crucial element of this project would be creating a 3D replicant of the real Vicis ZERO 2.
This required extensive research into all the intricacies of this helmet, while also learning some new modeling techniques.
Modeling:
Versions:
1:
Focused on a liquid transformation of the helmet into something sturdy and strong.
I planned on using cooler colors and moody lighting to make this direction dramatic.
2:
Focused on the deformation of and flexibility of this helmet in contrast to its durability. This direction would use more vibrant colors like orange and a light blue to create a sense of liveliness and energy.
The inspiration for this project is rooted in the idea of escaping the world, and becoming untethered from the gravity that weighs us down.
Inspiration:
Passes:
Each pass involved solving multiple challenges at once, due to trying to complete the final details of the model while also building a strong foundation in animation and design.
